It's My Park Day: Landscape Cleanup at the Ney - Volunteer Opportunity

Join us for the Landscape Cleanup at the Ney! For It's My Park Day this year, we are going to work with community members to refresh the natural grounds surrounding the Elisabet Ney Museum. Spots will fill up fast so be sure to register soon!

Volunteers will help spread mulch, tidy the gravel paths and remove invasive plants and weeds. This is a great opportunity to learn about the unique history and ecosystem that compose the museum's native landscape. 

The museum will provide some tools, but we are encouraging participants to bring grubbing tools, weed wrenches, rakes, and wheelbarrows if they have any of these items. We also recommend bringing gloves and a water bottle as well as wearing work appropriate clothing. 

Pre-registration is required. After registering through the Young Chamber website, you will receive a confirmation email with additional instructions. Please email events@austinyoungchamber.org if you have any questions. Registration will close at 5pm on November 4th or when all spots have been filled.


About the Elisabet Ney Museum

The Elisabet Ney Museum is the historic home and studio of Elisabet Ney, a wildly iconoclastic German sculptor who moved to Austin in 1882. The museum enthusiastically celebrates her art, her history and her legacy through exhibitions and events for the whole family. The museum enjoys numerous historic designations and is a cornerstone of the Hyde Park National Register Historic Neighborhood. Admission is free.


About It's My Park Day

It's My Park Day is the largest city-wide volunteer event hosted by the Austin Parks Foundation (APF). APF is a local nonprofit dedicated to maintaining and improving Austin’s parks, trails and green spaces. It’s My Park Day was established in 2003 and takes place twice a year on the first Saturday of March and November. The event results in an average of $650,000 in volunteer labor each year, saving Austin’s Parks and Recreation department time and money.
