Proceeds will allow seniors to shop and connect by getting a new 14 passenger van. Local choirs from East Austin, Manor, Round Rock, Pflugerville, and Hutto will ring in the Christmas season and bring joy to the community performing for the 27th annual Mistletoe Magic concert. This is the largest annual fundraiser for Senior Access which strives to reach the goal of raising $60,000 to cover the van expenses. Senior Access utilizes the vans to take seniors weekly for groceries and personal outings which helps connect them with their communities. These personal outings are vital to emotional health. 

“This year’s Mistletoe Magic Concert is a way for our seniors and friends of Senior Access to see a start to normalcy after a very long pandemic”, says Executive Director of Senior Access Serita Lacasse. “Seeing and listening to the beautiful choirs coming together to share holiday cheer will bring joy into all of our hearts”. The pandemic caused Senior Access to regroup and add additional programs to ensure seniors had access to their doctors, prescriptions, and groceries. Senior Access was successfully able to assist their senior clients during a difficult year. 

In 2021, Senior Access is seeing a growth in clients and services being requested. The organization anticipates over 15,000 rides for 2022. A new 14 passenger van will assure that all our clients that need help will have access. Senior Access provides free transportation and support services that enhance independence and quality of life for all of our senior clients such as access to groceries, medical appointments, and social opportunities.
